HVO 90% emission reduction

16 January 2025

Many CGM generators use HVO fuel to reduce CO2 emissions.

CGM is continuously following the development of renewable and lower-carbon intensity fuels.

WHAT IS HVO?

When considering the life cycle of the fuel, renewable fuels have lower-carbon footprints. Renewable fuels that are derived from fats and oils may be processed through hydrotreating. The result is a high paraffinic renewable diesel (RD), also called hydrotreated vege- table oil (HVO), that can be used in diesel engines.

LOWER CO2 EMISSIONS

Due to the HVO production process, the use of HVO has the potential to reduce the CO2 carbon footprint by up to 90% over the entire production cycle, according to REDII calculations. This is a sustainable solution that actively contributes to efforts to mitigate the effects of climate change.

A SUSTAINABLE FORCE ACROSS DIVERSE APPLICATIONS

HVO compatibility with CGM generating sets reverberates across various sectors, rein- forcing sustainability in each application.
